It’s a Family Affair at Peju Winery
Unmistakably Peju
Peju catches your eye from afar for its uniquely pruned 40-foot Sycamore trees that arch over its entrance off of Highway 29.
This winery is known for its balanced, expressive, and elegant wines, as well as its 50-foot, French Provincial-style tower, the rendering of which graces the label of every Peju wine.

A love of farming and a passion for wine led Tony and Herta Peju from their Los Angeles home to the Napa Valley in 1983. The duo made wine in their garage for a decade before fortuitously purchasing 30 acres in the heart of the Valley; their Rutherford location soon became well-known as a gold standard producer of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
Peju is now considered a Napa Valley landmark winery and continues to be family owned and operated. The Peju’s two daughters Lisa and Ariana now manage more than 450 acres that produce a multitude of varietals and blends.
The two are often spotted at the winery greeting guests.

WINE
Peju initially made Cabernet Sauvignon and French Colombard. Today, under the guidance of popular winemaker Sara Fowler, the winery also makes Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, thanks to their six estate vineyards throughout the Napa Valley that allow for the cultivation of many varietals.
Additionally, several special bottlings, such as Sangiovese, Zinfandel, and Malbec, are available to wine club members.

PEJU WINERY HOSPITALITY
Peju’s varied wine and food experiences allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the casual elegance of a wine country lifestyle.

With a vantage point overlooking the surrounding vineyards, the Vaca Mountain Range, the Mayacamas, and Mount St. Helena, Peju welcomes guests to its architecturally-unique setting where stained glass, Brazilian quartzite flooring, and rustic wood beams predominate.
Visitor experiences include:
· Classic Tasting – enjoy Peju’s most popular wines
· Reserve Tasting – elevated seated experience focused on Peju’s luxury, limited production offerings
· Chef’s Sampler – seasonal small bites prepared by Peju’s Chef Nic, offered Friday – Sunday

FAMILY
Even as a child, Lisa Peju was involved with the winery, and from an early age, was allowed by her European parents to enjoy sips with meals. “I always knew I would be in the wine business at some point,” said Lisa, whose favorite wine pairing is a rich red and popcorn.

She suckered vines and worked harvests, and like her parents, enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening. “It always felt like the things we did around the winery and vineyards were fun and engaging.
Making wine and growing grapes always felt like a natural part of life.” Though not a winemaker herself, Lisa enjoys working in the cellar. “I think it’s so wonderful to create something that so many people love and brings joy when you serve it.”
