Sonoma County Wine Auction September 14-16

Insider wine country experience that supports local community.

The Sonoma County Vintners will welcome renowned vintners, collectors, bidders, and visitors to this extraordinary food and wine destination for the annual Sonoma County Wine Auction from September 14-16.

Guests will have an opportunity to acquire the county’s top wines, bid on once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences, and enjoy the bounty of the area prepared by acclaimed chefs.

The proceeds of the weekend’s events, as always, will benefit Sonoma County nonprofit organizations supported by the Sonoma County Vintners Foundation.

Thursday

The festivities begin Thursday evening with Vintner Dinners, a series of dining experiences hosted by celebrated chefs and winemakers at various locations. Sonoma County wines will be paired with seasonal cuisine for a memorable start for the weekend.

Friday

Friday’s event at Rodney Strong Vineyards is billed as the “BEST. PARTY. EVER.” with live music, splendid wines, and gala food. As part of the program, auction guests will hear from vintners about the year’s auction lots.

Saturday

On Saturday, September 16, the live auction will take place at La Crema Estate at Saralee’s Vineyard.

Rare wines, fabulous trips, and all-inclusive Sonoma County culinary experiences will be up for bid, and successful bidders will not only enjoy their prizes, but they will be supporting organizations focused on education & literacy, health & human services, arts & culture, the environment, and more.

During the event, guests will have the opportunity to learn about some of the local organizations that have benefited from the funds raised through the auction and other Foundation events.

Honorees

This year’s SCWA Honorary Chairs are James Hall and Anne Moses, founders of Patz & Hall. Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, the winery was established by Hall and Moses along with Donald and Heather Patz.

Head Winemaker James Hall has crafted every vintage of Patz & Hall since 1988 while building lasting relationships with renowned growers throughout California.

Anne Moses, a gifted enologist, was the winery’s president from 1988 until 2005, and she currently serves on the Sonoma County Vintners board of directors.

The 2023 Vintner Honorees, Stuart Bryan and Pride Mountain Vineyards, are long-time supporters of the Sonoma County Wine Auction. Founded in 1990 by Jim and Carolyn Pride, the winery has been owned by their children, Suzanne Pride Bryan and Steve Pride, since 2004.

In his role as Vintner Ambassador, Stuart travels extensively to further the winery’s philanthropic efforts. He has served two terms on the Sonoma County Vintners board of directors.

Duskie Estes, owner of Black Pig Meat Co. and Executive Director of Farm to Pantry, is the 2023 Chef Honoree. For nearly two decades, Estes and her husband John Stewart were chef proprietors of award-winning ZAZU Kitchen+Farm, rated as a Top 50 Bay Area restaurant by San Francisco Magazine and included in the San Francisco Michelin Guide.

They now operate their food truck, The Black Piglet, in addition to Black Pig Meat Co. Duskie serves as Executive Director of Farm to Pantry, dedicated to “rescuing food that would otherwise go wasted and getting it to people in need,” according to Duskie on the organization’s website.

“We look forward to bringing our Sonoma County community back together again to raise funds for the local nonprofits who continue to provide critical services and emergency aid to those who are most in need,” said Michael Haney, Executive Director of Sonoma County Vintners Foundation.

An exciting event for wine collectors and guests, the Sonoma County Wine Auction brings visitors to experience the beauty of Sonoma County while having a positive effect on the community.
