After unveiling its $25 million renovation over summer, The Meritage Resort and Spa is once again drawing guests from near and far to its iconic Napa Valley setting. The reimagined resort is proud to announce the return of its beloved Merry Meritage holiday season, now through January 11th, 2025. This year’s festivities promise to bring a touch of the North Pole to California’s renowned wine country.

A Winter Wonderland for the Whole Family

The resort’s stunning lawn is transformed into a magical wonderland, complete with the largest outdoor ice skating rink in Wine Country. Guests of all ages can glide across the rink, enjoy private igloo and fire pit experiences, and revel in a warm, spirited atmosphere.

For those looking to toast the season, Santa’s Tavern will return with its signature hot toddies, festive cocktails, and merry mocktails, offering a cozy retreat after a day of skating. The fun doesn’t stop there—families can gather for story time with Santa, hear tales from their favorite princesses, and delight in the special “snow” machine that brings flurries to Napa’s vineyards.

The Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Magic

The Meritage Resort & Spa’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, was held on Saturday, November 23rd drawing more than a thousand attendees. The grand finale—a sparkling illumination of the resort’s towering 40-foot tree, accompanied by falling “snow”—captured the magic of the season. This year, for the first time, the “Merry Meritage On Ice” skating performance was hosted by the Redwood Ice Theatre Company, featuring appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Claus, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Cinderella, Moana, Tiana, and other beloved characters.

As part of the spirit of giving, guests were encouraged to bring a toy to donate to Toys For Tots, spreading holiday cheer to those in need. The festivities also included an Artisan Market, where guests shopped for locally made gifts such as handmade jewelry, candles, chocolates, and more.

For a touch of whimsy, Sora Napa will host Sparkling Tea Parties throughout December, offering guests a delightful afternoon with a flight of sparkling wines, savory tea sandwiches, and dainty desserts.
