Adobe Road Winery Brings Two Exciting Worlds Together
It’s all about passion and drive.
Adobe Road Winery is dedicated to small lots of artisanally produced wine from some of the most lauded vineyards in Sonoma and Napa. Adobe’s network of growers bristles with bold-faced names, from Beckstoffer Vineyards in Rutherford, to Sangiocomo Family Vineyards in Petaluma Gap, over to Bacigalupi Vineyards in the Russian River Valley and Famighetti Vineyards in the Dry Creek AVA.
The wine’s numerous awards speak for themselves: recently, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, Beckstoffer Vineyards-Georges III scored multiple honors at the 2022 L.A. Invitational Wine & Spirits Challenge, including, “Best of Class” Cabernet Sauvignon, “Best of Show” Red Wine, and “Best of the Best” overall wine winner.
That’s enough to have wine lovers racing to buy bottles, but what ends up revving their engines is the story behind the label. Adobe Road was founded in 2002 by championship racecar driver Kevin Buckler, who along with wife Debra Buckler previously established one of the most successful pro motorsports operations in sportscar history.
The Racers Group won four victories at the 24-hours of Daytona, a win at the 24 hours of Le Mans, seven championships and 100+ wines globally. To this day, The Racers Group is considered one of the best pro sports car teams in North America, with a multi-faceted program that takes on multiple races across the world annually, and fun and interactive events.
Buckler wanted to bring his love of cars and wine—together. Initially, the project was a successful partnership focused on experiential entertainment for corporate and private clients. (Who wouldn’t want to roll out a tasting room + racing paddock at their next event?) But he was thirsty for more. In 2019, Adobe Road launched a new brand, dubbed The Racing Series. Inspired by the most enthralling moments on the racetrack, the cutting-edge, ultra-premium brand also reflects Buckler’s love of premium California terroir.
Never one to rest on his considerable laurels, Buckler is now at work on a physical manifestation of his passions in downtown Petaluma: a cutting-edge entertainment complex with an automotive museum that also happens to harbor a state-of-the-art winery, hospitality center, tasting room and corporate facilities.
