Four founders, three decades of winemaking experience and two varietals lead to exceptional offerings

Chardonnay and pinot noir lovers, rejoice: the winemakers at Patz & Hall focus specifically on these two varietals, with spectacular results. Located in the city of Sonoma, Patz & Hall uses both traditional techniques and cutting-edge winemaking equipment to bring out the essence and character of each grape.

The wine

Patz & Hall’s single-vineyard, limited-production wines use traditional winemaking techniques and grapes from small, elite vineyards. The narrow focus on just two grapes allows the winemakers to perfect their craft, coaxing nuanced flavors out of every harvest.

Since 1988, the winery has built a portfolio of exceptional chardonnay and pinot noir offerings—a legacy that continues to this day.

Patz & Hall’s state-of-the-art winery was designed by winemaker James Hall, including a custom punch-over machine. This allows them complete control over the process, ensuring every bottle represents the high standards and perfectionism the winery is known for. Patz & Hall specifically seeks out partnerships with small, family-owned vineyards to create their legendary wines.

Wine lovers will enjoy tasting how different vineyards and terroir produce distinctly unique flavors in the same grape. Don’t miss their 2017 North Coast Brut sparkling wine, which is made entirely from chardonnay grapes: with rich flavors and a dry finish, it’s a perfect selection for any celebration.

Patz & Hall should be at the top of every chardonnay or pinot noir lover’s to-do list. The deep relationships with some of California’s top vineyard sites, decades of winemaking experience and narrow focus contribute to finely crafted wines with big flavor.

The casual, inviting setting beckons guests to make the most of Sonoma’s sun-drenched landscape—and world-renowned wines—with every sip.
