Pedroncelli Winery in Geyserville
A Taste of Dry Creek Valley’s Heritage.
Pedroncelli is one of Dry Creek Valley’s most historic and beloved wineries – California’s Bonded Winery #113 – located just outside the town of Geyserville, Sonoma County.
Pedroncelli’s Home Ranch tasting room is off the beaten path, so visitors may drive by it without knowing what a historic, hidden gem they’ve missed – a winery that’s remained rooted in the past, but always with an eye on what’s ahead – a balance of history and modernity.

Upon entering the recently renovated tasting room, you’ll find everything about your visit to be casual, comfortable, warm, and welcoming – with a wide selection of wines for every taste and occasion.

Pedroncelli offers three tasting flights – all reasonably priced by Wine Country standards. They include Welcome to the Family, Soil and Vine, and Deep Roots – all befitting for wine novices and connoisseurs alike. Friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable tasting room staff or a family member will guide you through your tasting at your comfort level.
Wines
Pedroncelli makes such a wide variety of wines that you’re sure to find something you like. For those who prefer whites and Rosé, you’ll enjoy their Giovanni & Giulia Sauvignon Blanc, Signature Selection Rosé – a dry Rosé of Zinfandel they’ve been making since 1954 – and a choice of Chardonnays.

For red wine lovers, you can’t go wrong with their flagship Mother Clone Zinfandel – named as such because it was cloned using cuttings from the original Mother Vineyard – or Zinfandels from their single-vineyard collection, their selection of Cabernet Sauvignons, Sonoma Classico proprietary red blend, Bench Vineyards Merlot, and Barrel Select Cabernet Franc.

The Four Grapes Estate Vintage Port – made from the traditional Portuguese Tinta Madeira, Tinta Cão, Touriga Nacional, and Souzão – will delight those with a sweet tooth.
History
First-generation owners Giovanni (John, Sr.) and Giulia (Julia) Pedroncelli purchased a 25-acre Zinfandel vineyard in Dry Creek Valley in 1927, initially selling their grapes to local home winemakers. After Prohibition, Giovanni began making his own Zinfandel. In 1947, John Pedroncelli, Jr. became winemaker, crafting his first Zinfandel under the Pedroncelli label – and serving as winemaker for 67 vintages before his passing in 2015.

Legacy
After nearly a century, the Pedroncelli winegrowing and winemaking legacy continues and remains family owned and operated. Third-generation family member, Julie Pedroncelli St. John, serves as the winery’s president.
Pedroncelli is also 70% woman owned – and winemaker Montse Reece – only the third in the winery’s history – is one of the region’s most respected and award-winning woman winemakers.

The fourth generation of the family is also involved and committed to leading Pedroncelli into the future.
You might recognize the Pedroncelli name because of their Zinfandel.
But over the years, the winery has added more varieties to their lineup – including Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc – which, along with Zinfandel – comprise 70% of the winery’s production. Pedroncelli also grows Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, and Syrah – as well as the Portuguese grapes for their port.

Pedroncelli now sustainably farms 115 acres of estate vineyards throughout Dry Creek Valley, including the original Home Ranch, Bushnell, Wisdom, and East Side. The winery purchases Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from respected vineyards in Dry Creek Valley and Russian River Valley that have the cooler climates required for these varieties to thrive.

At Pedroncelli you can feel confident knowing that the winery is true to its tagline, “Deep History, Legendary Wines” – a place for friends and family to gather and enjoy some of the best wines Dry Creek Valley has to offer.
