Exploring the Menu
Folktable offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. During my sunny fall visit, I enjoyed a leisurely lunch with a friend on their charming patio; the umbrellas and olive trees provided the perfect shade. My dishes included:
Ahi, Avocado and Toast
Shinko Pear, Pine Nut, Mint, Jalapeño Sesame Oil, Quail Egg
Folktable sources most ingredients from neighboring Tank House Farms in the beautiful Sonoma Valley.
“We serve farm fresh produce, eggs, and chicken. It is fresh from the ground in most instances from that very morning,” said Executive Chef Casey Thompson. “Folktable is the first restaurant I have cheffed of it’s kind. For one, it is a lunch restaurant, a different animal. But having the farms is the most remarkable part. It is such a treat to walk across to the farm and pull something that we may need in the restaurant, at the moment. The guests are interested in the Folktable process and are very complimentary. It is a fun place to chef at.”
Folktable is a must-try if you’re visiting the area. Often referred to as a hidden gem, this restaurant is an ideal lunch spot serving generous portions at Cornerstone Sonoma. In this picturesque marketplace, guests can shop, taste wine, listen to live music and walk the beautiful gardens.
