The French Laundry Retains Three Michelin Stars for 2025
Famous Napa Valley restaurant continues its remarkable streak of culinary excellence.
The French Laundry has earned three Michelin stars for the eighteenth consecutive year in the 2025 MICHELIN® Guide California. Chef Thomas Keller’s iconic Yountville restaurant has also maintained its Michelin Green Star for the fifth year running, cementing its position as one of America’s most celebrated dining destinations.

This extraordinary achievement places The French Laundry among an elite group of restaurants worldwide that have sustained the highest level of Michelin recognition for nearly two decades. The announcement, made on June 26, 2025, reflects not just the restaurant’s storied past, but its ongoing commitment to culinary innovation and sustainable practices.

“I’m deeply honored—and humbled—for our team to be recognized with three Michelin stars,” said Keller. “This kind of recognition is never taken for granted. I want to thank our Chef de Cuisine Ara Jo, General Manager Michael Minnillo, Pastry Chef Jamie Houghton, and Head Sommelier Andrew Adelson. Every day, you show up with focus, care and an extraordinary level of commitment. And to the kitchen, dining room, wine and executive support teams—your dedication and drive to keep evolving—it shows in everything you do.”

“Awards like this are a reflection of what we did today. Not yesterday, not years ago—today,” added Keller. “And with that comes a quiet responsibility to keep showing up, to keep earning it, one service at a time. One guest at a time. That’s the beauty of our profession—it keeps you present,” said Keller. “Thank you to the Michelin Guide for this honor, and congratulations to all the chefs and teams who were recognized this year. It’s a privilege to be among you.”

The Michelin Guide remains one of the most prestigious restaurant distinctions in the world, recognizing excellence in cuisine, service, and sustainability.
